sea crow books and authors

If you’ve been following Sea Crow Press for a while, you know that we’re more than a publisher — we’re a community of writers, readers, and thinkers committed to amplifying meaningful voices. Based on Cape Cod, we publish literary fiction, memoir, eco-lit, and poetry that speaks to the heart and the world we live in.

Whether you’ve read one of our titles, attended a launch event, or simply follow along because you love what indie publishing stands for — we’re glad you’re here.

Why “Sea Crow”?

Sea Crow Press is named for a flock of five talkative crows you can find on the beach anywhere between Scudder Lane and Bone Hill Road in Barnstable Village on Cape Cod. According to Norse legend, one-eyed Odin sent two crows out into the world so they could return and tell its stories. If you sit and listen to the sea crows in Barnstable as they fly and roost and chatter, it’s an easy legend to believe. The sea crow is a coastal bird known for its intelligence, resilience, and striking silhouette. It’s a symbol of what we aim to do: publish books that endure, navigate, and uplift. Our stories may be local in setting, but they carry universal resonance.
