What happens when ancient healing traditions meet a rapidly changing America? In The Healer of Corky Row, Virginia Ryan explores that question through Nuala Conneely, an Irish healer whose life is shaped by family, faith, folklore, immigration, and a sacred geis, a vow she carries from Ireland to a Massachusetts mill town. “The essence of Nuala Conneely is conflict, which is why her ultimate mission in life is to find balance.” Published by Sea Crow Press on September 15, 202

Author Susan McGuirk joins Sea Crow Press to discuss Dear Missing Friend, her richly researched historical novel following Catherine McGuirk—a young Irish immigrant navigating love, ambition, and independence across 1840s Manhattan and whaling-era Sag Harbor. A story of bold choices, preserved places, and the women whose courage still shapes us.
